Medical Marijuana Strains And Their Characteristics

    Marijuana grows generally in three basic strains. Cannabis Sativa, Cannabis Indica and Cannabis Ruderalis. The illustration to the left shows the basic differences in height and girth of each.

    Because the strain Cannabis Ruderalis has an extremely low level of tetrahydrocannabinol [ THC ] and grows very short, it is not considered a viable Medical Marijuana strain.

    Cannabis Sativa and Cannabis Indica however, produce a much larger harvest per plant and have high levels of THC when well taken care of. This makes them the prevalent two strains used for Medical Marijuana purposes.
