That is a popular question these days. With more states changing their laws to allow the use of Medical Marijuana for treatment of certain conditions, people who would never before have considered such a thing, are coming forward with questions about their ailment and the possible use of Medical Marijuana, either to replace their current medications or as a supplement to them.

The first question that you should ask is, Is it legal for me to use Medical Marijuana? The answer will come with just a little searching. We have tried to answer most of your questions within this site by either giving you the answers or by providing helpful links to get the answers you seek.

First you need to see if you live in a Medical Marijuana State. We have already answered that for you on our Medical Marijuana States page. Click on this link or on the tab above to see if your state allows Medical Marijuana use. At the time of this writing there are 17 states within the U.S. that have Medical Marijuana Laws and allow possession and use and sometimes cultivation of  Medical Marijuana as long as their guidelines are adhered to.

If you DO live in a Medical Marijuana State, you next need to find out if your medical condition is covered under your states Medical Marijuana laws.We have published these answers to the best of our ability's as well. Simply click on the Medical Marijuana Use tab above or Click here to be taken to that page. You can also find your answer by clicking on the link provided under YOUR STATE on our Medical Marijuana States page. This option takes you to the official State Website where all will be reviled. It is important that you check your states laws since each state has it's own list of acceptable conditions.

If you believe you are a good candidate for Medical Marijuana Use, your next step is to discuss it with a licensed Medical Marijuana Doctor. We do not suggest seeing a Medical Marijuana Doctor if you have not yet checked the State law on acceptable Medical Marijuana Use first. This is simply because a Doctors Visit may cost you unnecessarily and insurance will not cover any of the costs. That's a fight yet to be had.

We hope you find this site helpful and will return again.

Regardless of your viewpoint on the Medical Marijuana issue, we encourage you to leave a comment below in the comment box.

WHAT IS MEDICAL MARIJUANA?

Medical Marijuana is probably the most controversial and least understood medication prescribed in the U.S. today, yet it is less addictive than commonly prescribed opiates such as Percoset, Morphine, Codeine, Fentanyl, Hydrocodone and Oxycodon to name just a few. It is also less harmful to the body and environment than manufactured drugs. Also it's the most cost effective treatment for a number of common ailments and conditions found in our society.

Why is Medical Marijuana so controversial?

The biggest reason that I know of as to why it's so controversial is simply the law's against it. Even though several states and regions around the world are beginning to realize that marijuana has real benefits to the medical community, there are still those who refuse to listen to the facts and point to the laws currently in place as a reason to keep those laws in place. No facts will change their minds.

Another reason for the controversy is that Marijuana has been traditionally used for recreational purposes. But even this argument doesn't stand up when you compare the harm to ones self and others as well as harm to the environment brought on by the legal manufacturing and consumption of alcohol, which has no medical benefits.

Is Medical Marijuana Different Than Other Marijuana?

The answer to that question is both Yes and No.

If you want to know if it is a special strain of Marijuana or a genetically altered strain, the best answer is no. Not usually.  Medical Marijuana is the same as any other....with a few big differences though.

Think of it like this, when you go out to eat at a restaurant you generally expect the food to be prepared in a clean area by professionals who know how to season it just right. This makes dining out so enjoyable.

The same applies to Medical Marijuana.

Normally, Medical Marijuana is grown under carefully controlled conditions by growers who are more knowledgeable than the average backyard grower. This creates a very powerful and potent THC content, which means less is required to achieve the desired result. This is why Medical Marijuana is more than four times the cost of street value. That and the additional overhead required to legally produce and dispense the crop.

Medical Marijuana is here. Its gaining more support from medical and scientific professionals every day, and I for one am grateful.

My photo
I am a disabled middle age American who suffers with severe back injuries that cause constant pain. I am a Medical Marijuana Patient and a Medical Marijuana Advocate. Although I am constantly stereotyped by those who are misinformed, I am not a POTHEAD nor a PARTIER. I do not abuse my prescription nor do I sell or give medication to others. I simply choose to relieve my pain without more pills, and it works.
