 Medical Marijuana Is Medicine

The main reason I even decided to create this this blog site is all the talk I hear from news commentators, politicians, neighbors, friends and even family who have the impression that Medical Marijuana is somehow just a sham voted in by potheads who want to get high.

What gets me the most are those who follow or precede their comments with, " Can't you just take pills for your pain? " That's when they usually stop listening to me as I explain that the pain pills commonly prescribed are Opiate's. Meaning they are derived from Opium and have a much higher risk of dependency and pose numerous health hazards.

Medical Marijuana is a prescription written by a licensed Doctor. You must have a medical condition that is allowed by the individual Medical Marijuana State Law. This is the same process required to obtain the processed Opium everyone is so quick to suggest.

Most Medical Marijuana Doctors are good, honest Doctors who do thorough exams and medical background checks on a patient before prescribing. With that being said I must also point out that their are some who will prescribe Medical Marijuana to anyone by finding and exploiting loopholes in the States law. But the same is true for all forms of medication. There are Doctors who will prescribe pills to anyone who wants them.We just need to close those loopholes in the prescription laws to reduce this unethical practice.

Below, you will see excerpts followed by a link to their complete story from people with real medical conditions who have chosen Medical Marijuana as part of their treatment.

Medical Marijuana Story's

Michael McKenna: Vietnam Vet With PTSD
"... I had to deal not only with our dead but theirs also, along with murders, suicides and heroin overdoses ...
When I returned home, I was hit by the same crap that most other vets got: unemployable, hate, prejudice, called all of the names I’m sure you’ve heard... we went to the VA hospital in St. Louis...They gave me Valium and told me to come back in 90 days. When I went back and told them the Valium wasn’t working, they said there was nothing else they could do, and I had to live with it...I was just another bombed-out crazy vet, useless, suicidal, and violent... During one of my stays at the VA, they told me I had a spondylopathy there that they could not operate on, and that I would probably end up in wheelchair. While pot does not stop the pain, it sure makes it a lot easier to live with at bad moments. My pain pills don’t stop the pain and are addictive ..."  [ Read Michael's Full Testimonial ]

CJ Heavey: Brain Tumor Survivor
"...In 2000, I had surgery for a brain tumour. I was given an anti-seizure medication called Dilantin. In less than a week of taking this federally-approved drug, my behavior morphed to a crazed state... Ninety percent of my body became sheathed in a purple rash. And, I wound up with liver damage...After researching, speaking to medical teams, and trying other various alternatives, I was finally approved for medical marijuana via Health Canada...The marijuana not only helped with my pain, it also helped with seizures, stress, and behaviour. And it doesn't damage my liver!..." [ Read CJ's Full Testimonial ]

About Me

My photo
I am a disabled middle age American who suffers with severe back injuries that cause constant pain. I am a Medical Marijuana Patient and a Medical Marijuana Advocate. Although I am constantly stereotyped by those who are misinformed, I am not a POTHEAD nor a PARTIER. I do not abuse my prescription nor do I sell or give medication to others. I simply choose to relieve my pain without more pills, and it works.
